Hey, Hey, It’s MUGSHOT MONDAY, the day that beauty violators are brought to justice. Today’s case was a challenge. I happened to be working with Nico Malvaldi, a photographer who adores film noir. Nico wanted me to do a french femme fatale look on the model that we were working with. I realized early on that she didn’t have the typical bone structure that I’ve always associated with the look. Ohhhhh I love a challenge.
Here’s the rap sheet:
I started with a cream foundation to even out all skin discoloration
the lip line was extended with MAC magenta lip liner
hot pink lipstick was then applied on top of the liner

You have no idea how exciting it was for me to have the chance to do a makeover on TV!! The experience was pretty freakin’ fantastic!!! I’d spent the last three years doing makeup behind the scenes at the Rachael Ray show, but had never had the opportunity to work my magic on camera!!! Lucky for me, the extremely awesome folks over at USA’s show Character Fantasy gave me a shot!!!
Here are 3 things that I learned about being on the tellie!!!
1. A little clinical strength antiperspirant never hurt nobody!! Out of nowhere, I started sweating like a dieter in a donut shop (thanks for that one David). Had I not double-downed on the deodorant, it would’ve been pit stain city!!!!
2. Spanx are your friend!! A great look starts with a good foundation garment. Just like a great makeup look starts with a great foundation. Its all relative!!!
3. Invest in the dress!! Most of my stylist friends usually say invest in shoes and hanbags, because those items can make a cheap outfit look expensive. Well in TV land, your feet may not show, and more than likely, you wont have your handbag on your shoulder!! I broke the bank for these lovelies, but they never saw any air time!!!

Get ready for the drama to ensue as MTV’s reality show the City returns Tuesday night at 10:30. I recently worked with some of the ladies for this season’s promos. I nearly died from cardiac arrest swooning over the fashions that were wheeled in for the shoot!!! Ladies, if any of those Louboutins need a babysitter, they can come stay with me anytime!!!
In case you didnt know, I absolutely love my job!! I’m a makeup artist, the work that I do is fun for me!!! However, there was this one time on a photo shoot that I was forced to rub lotion on this really sexy football player with a super hot chiseled body for GQ magazine. Oh my gosh what a horrible job (wink, wink)!! I had to repeatedly put my hands on Chad Ocho Cinco’s rock hard abs because the magazine had him jumping in a pool over and over. My job was to make sure that his skin didn’t get dried out from the chlorine, and his lips didnt get chapped. Talk about hard work (yes ladies, I know your hearts bleed for me)!!!
As it turns out, Mr. Ocho will be fox trotting on Dancing with the Stars!!! Yes, my DVR is already set!! Check out one of my favorite clients on Dancing with the Stars tonight on ABC!!

I announced the winner to The CUPID CAN KISS IT Valentine’s contest, in which one lucky reader won a date with me and Gregg Giannillo to have her hair and makeup done before she hit the town with her actual V-Day date!! In other news!! It was New York Fashion Week and I got to work on Project Runway winner Irina Shabayeva’s show. Amazing clothes!!! The collection was about the freedom of flight. A lot of the pieces had hand painted feathers. Gorgeous!!! I would love to own this collection. Here are a few shots of some of the models that I worked on at the show:
AAAhhh, the fond memories of being a kid on the playground… Remember how you’d actually ask another child if they’d like to be your friend? Back then, it wasn’t official until you asked. Dating was simple too, a boy would ask you to be his girlfriend (I still like to be asked– otherwise I think we’re just hanging out…hahaha!!) Today, I’m taking it back to the old school–Will you be my friend? DO I HAVE LIPSTICK ON MY TEETH is gearing up for some exciting changes in 2010, but those changes won’t work without friends like you!!! Let’s get to know each other!!! Let’s be friends…

THREE THINGS I LEARNED ABOUT BEING ON TV

FUNNY GIRL

CITY FOLKS

DANCING WITH THE STARS
