Halloween was hectic this year!!! I had fun, with a mermaid and Joauqin Phoenix… Sounds crazy, right? Well not as crazy as walking down the street and running into your mirror image!!! Yes, bizarre as it sounds, I ran into a girl who looked just like me!!! The funny thing is she was wearing a Halloween costume!! Hahahahahahaha!!

Wheeew, this week was pretty hectic!!! I announced the winner to The CUPID CAN KISS IT Valentine’s contest, in which one lucky reader won a date with me and Gregg Giannillo to have her hair and makeup done before she hit the town with her actual V-Day date!! In other news!! It was New York Fashion Week and I got to work on Project Runway winner Irina Shabayeva’s show. Amazing clothes!!! The collection was about the freedom of flight. A lot of the pieces had hand painted feathers. Gorgeous!!! I would love to own this collection. Here are a few shots of some of the models that I worked on at the show:

AAAhhh, the fond memories of being a kid on the playground… Remember how you’d actually ask another child if they’d like to be your friend? Back then, it wasn’t official until you asked. Dating was simple too, a boy would ask you to be his girlfriend (I still like to be asked– otherwise I think we’re just hanging out…hahaha!!) Today, I’m taking it back to the old school–Will you be my friend? DO I HAVE LIPSTICK ON MY TEETH is gearing up for some exciting changes in 2010, but those changes won’t work without friends like you!!! Let’s get to know each other!!! Let’s be friends…
Over the weekend I joined the HELP-PORTRAIT project, it’s a movement among photographers and industry professionals doing portraits of people that aren’t able to afford traditional family portraiture. I volunteered to do makeup for the families at the El Puente center in Brooklyn, New York. We were fortunate to work with sixty families!!! I enjoyed laughing with the kids and giving the moms makeup tips that they’ll be able to add to their daily routines!! Here are some of the photos from the event taken by Monika.

Order in the court, it’s MUGSHOT MONDAY, the day that beauty violators are brought to justice!! My good friend Roxanne recently got a sassy low maintenance haircut!!! Hubba Hubba!!! We wanted to compliment her new cut with an equally snazzy makeup look that is quick and simple to achieve.

Shimmering blush was added to the apples of the checks

Val and Andrew work together and occasionally attend a boxing class in the evenings. We used an eggplant shadow near the lash line
Lilac shadow was blended into the eggplant up to the crease
Highlighter was layered over a nectar colored blush

Meredith has been described by her friends as a chic preppy chick. In keeping with that theme, we gave our little prepster a classic polished look that will compliment any and all of her JCrew jackets!!!

Velvety powder was used to tone down shine

When I met Portia, I knew that I wanted to give her a layered nude effect that would bring out her skin tone. We decided to play with textures and sheen to keep her looking youthful and fresh, while adding some ooomphhh!

I used a heavy cream moisturizer to prep the skin
I used liquid foundation mixed with golden highlighter on skin
A tiny bit of creamy concealer was used in the under eye area
Nars Laguna bronzer was used on cheekbones and hairline
Sheer golden gloss was used on the lips
A pair of strip lashes were added to emphasize eyes
Quick tip: If your body is tan , make sure that your foundation on the outer regions of your face matches your neck and arms. Or use a bronzer to even out your skin.

In case you haven’t heard, Latisse is a prescription drug used to make your eyelashes grow. I got the goods from my ophthalmologist Dr. Patrick Spencer, and I’ve been growing a pair of long luscious lashes ever since!! My goal is to reach what I call Betty Boopdom. Yes, I’m nerding out, but just go with me… Believe it or not, even the “Y” chromosome is forced to zip it once in a while!!! With that in mind, I recently tackled my biggest challenge yet— I made the “Y” chromosome shut his trap!!! Check out the gender bending makeover that you’ve got to see to believe!!!!
