Wheeew, this week was pretty hectic!!! I announced the winner to The CUPID CAN KISS IT Valentine’s contest, in which one lucky reader won a date with me and Gregg Giannillo to have her hair and makeup done before she hit the town with her actual V-Day date!! In other news!! It was New York Fashion Week and I got to work on Project Runway winner Irina Shabayeva’s show. Amazing clothes!!! The collection was about the freedom of flight. A lot of the pieces had hand painted feathers. Gorgeous!!! I would love to own this collection. Here are a few shots of some of the models that I worked on at the show:

Dating was simple too, a boy would ask you to be his girlfriend (I still like to be asked– otherwise I think we’re just hanging out…hahaha!!) Today, I’m taking it back to the old school–Will you be my friend? Over the weekend I joined the HELP-PORTRAIT project, it’s a movement among photographers and industry professionals doing portraits of people that aren’t able to afford traditional family portraiture. I volunteered to do makeup for the families at the El Puente center in Brooklyn, New York. We were fortunate to work with sixty families!!! I enjoyed laughing with the kids and giving the moms makeup tips that they’ll be able to add to their daily routines!! Here are some of the photos from the event taken by Monika.

Order in the court, it’s MUGSHOT MONDAY, the day that beauty violators are brought to justice!! My good friend Roxanne recently got a sassy low maintenance haircut!!! Hubba Hubba!!! We wanted to compliment her new cut with an equally snazzy makeup look that is quick and simple to achieve.

Liquid liner was used on the upper lid
Shimmering blush was added to the apples of the checks

Val and Andrew work together and occasionally attend a boxing class in the evenings. It goes without saying that this gal knows how to throw a punch, but we wanted to give her a new look that packs a punch!!!

Meredith has been described by her friends as a chic preppy chick. In keeping with that theme, we gave our little prepster a classic polished look that will compliment any and all of her JCrew jackets!!!

Hey, Hey, It’s MUGSHOT MONDAY, the day that beauty violators are brought to justice. Today’s case was a challenge. I happened to be working with Nico Malvaldi, a photographer who adores film noir. Nico wanted me to do a french femme fatale look on the model that we were working with. I realized early on that she didn’t have the typical bone structure that I’ve always associated with the look. Ohhhhh I love a challenge.

I started with a cream foundation to even out all skin discoloration
the lip line was extended with MAC magenta lip liner
hot pink lipstick was then applied on top of the liner

Sometimes as a freelance makeup artist, I get called to do a job that sounds bananas!! The other day I got one of those calls from Penthouse (the men’s magazine)!!! GAsssssppppp!!!!
You want me to put makeup where???!!!! Hahahaha!!!
All jokes aside, the job that I did for the magazine was PG-13. I didn’t have to put makeup on anybody’s anything (aside from their faces). The models were wearing Halloween costumes for an upcoming feature in the magazine. THEY WERE FULLY CLOTHED AT ALL TIMES!!! The magazine staff was friendly, and way less horny than I had imagined them to be!! Actually, the staff members that I met were mostly women– really cool women! Yep, I know, this story isn’t the least bit scandalous! In fact, the only scandalous thing was this costume that I popped into for a few giggles!!
